Hi, How Are You?
Let me introduce myself
Hello from San Pedro, California.
Thanks for being here! It’s officially the 1st “Muddythings by Mayon” Blog entry.
My name is Mayon Hanania. I am a French artist based in California who works in various fields, including ceramic, painting, and drawing. I am also a vegan shoe designer, and I studied art and fashion in Paris in the early 2000s, where I was born and raised.
In 2016, I moved to San Pedro, California.
What now?
I have been organizing, re-organizing, prioritizing, moving things around, hand building, wheel throwing, under glazing, and glazing…
In the past few months, I reflected on how I want to work and share my work through my resellers and galleries and directly to my "fans," if that's something I can say I have :). My life is shifting this year. I will probably talk more about it in a few months, but mostly, I want to focus on my art projects and ceramics.
This 1st blog entry introduces how I want to communicate with you all. I want to write a few words to share things I like, such as an art show, a bodysurfing event, pictures I've taken, art I have been creating, and new ceramic updates.
In the summers of 2022 and 2023, I exhibited 100+ ceramic pieces at POLU Gallery in Haleiwa, Hawaii, and for the past 15 years, I have been showing my paintings in France, and in the United States, I participated in a lot of different projects you can see them here.
I want to sell my ceramics and sometimes drawings and paintings directly to you from my website, and I also want to touch people in real life, in stores and galleries.
This is why I will focus on producing enough work to sustain this wish and hopefully have new pieces regularly for those who often ask how they can purchase my work.
This was a short self-introduction; I might share more next time.
I feel this is a small corner of the internet for me to cozy up and write things that might reach or not reach you, but I need it, in part because I feel more freedom here than on social media; I can talk and share thoughts and not expect an immediate response or validation from an “audience.”
More pleasure, less pressure.
